Mark 6:34-44

When Jesus saw the vast crowd, his heart was moved with pity for them, for they were like sheep without a shepherd; and he began to teach them many things. By now it was already late and his disciples approached him and said, "This is a deserted place and it is already very late. Dismiss them so that they can go to the surrounding farms and villages and buy themselves something to eat." He said to them in reply, "Give them some food yourselves." But they said to him, "Are we to buy two hundred days' wages worth of food and give it to them to eat?" He asked them, "How many loaves do you have?  Go and see." And when they had found out they said, "Five loaves and two fish." So he gave orders to have them sit down in groups on the green grass. The people took their places in rows by hundreds and by fifties. Then, taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he said the blessing, broke the loaves, and gave them to his disciples to set before the people; he also divided the two fish among them all. They all ate and were satisfied. And they picked up twelve wicker baskets full of fragments and what was left of the fish. Those who ate of the loaves were five thousand men.

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for peace in Israel.

On New Year's Eve, there was a fire that burned the roof of a home that I love. The home was a home for pregnant women who had no place to go.

The day I got back into town, my first stop was the home.

As I walked through the house that overtaken by the smell of smoke and water damage, I remembered what it was like the first time the house was built. I knew nothing about framing, putting up drywall, roofing, etc. Yet, what little gift I could bring was used by Our Lord.

There were many who were in the same boat as me, and through His grace, all of our efforts were able to build a home for many women and children. In the house there's a wall that was filled with names. There were 8 years worth of names that covered that wall.

I wasn't there when Jesus fed the 5,000, but I am blessed enough to see how what little I could bring to Our Lord would be used to bless many.

Everyday I struggle with thoughts of how imperfect and how inadequate I am. In fact, I have been paralyzed many times in front of this computer screen unable to send anything out because I fear what little I have to offer. Yet, it is in recalling these moments that I am reminded that truly it is in His hands.

Thank You, Jesus!

Take care and God Bless.
