Matthew 5:27-32

Jesus said to his disciples: "You have heard that it was said, You shall not commit adultery. But I say to you, everyone who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one of your members than to have your whole body thrown into Gehenna. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one of your members than to have your whole body go into Gehenna.

"It was also said, Whoever divorces his wife must give her a bill of divorce. But I say to you, whoever divorces his wife (unless the marriage is unlawful) causes her to commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life.

At the beginning of February 2009, I weighed myself ... 264 lbs.

I have been working diligently at losing the weight. As of this past Monday ... 216 lbs. Praise be to God!

At first, it was tough, but my body got used to the added exercise and the portion control. Soon, it became a part of how I lived my life.

There are a lot of things in my life I need to let go of. As I look at how awesome God has been in helping me to drop the weight, it's good to know that if there are things that I need to let go of that cause me to sin, why wouldn't He provide the grace needed there as well?

How has God blessed you lately? Remember that He is faithful. Take care and God Bless.
