Monday in the Sixth Week of Easter
John 16:5-11

Jesus said to his disciples: "Now I am going to the one who sent me, and not one of you asks me, 'Where are you going?' But because I told you this, grief has filled your hearts. But I tell you the truth, it is better for you that I go. For if I do not go, the Advocate will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. And when he comes he will convict the world in regard to sin and righteousness and condemnation: sin, because they do not believe in me; righteousness, because I am going to the Father and you will no longer see me; condemnation, because the ruler of this world has been condemned."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for those who will be graduating this year, that they may be filled with the Holy Spirit as their guide in their transition.

If you feel uniquely challenged in your faith in this time period, take heart. The same Holy Spirit, Whom Jesus sends to us ... Whom led the Apostles ... Whom led St. Paul ... is the same Holy Spirit that is with each of us.

I have to admit that I fear the time that we are in. More and more, it seems like this is the time to take a stand in your faith. It's amazing to hear that in the latest Gallup poll, more people are "pro-life" than "pro-choice." It's a great blessing to hear.

As more and more people are speaking up to defend the dignity of life, let us be among them in defending the Author of Life, guided by the Holy Spirit. Let us be counted among the Saints who have died so that we can profess what we believe. Let us be counted among the martyrs who shed their blood so that God may be glorified.

Let us be counted, led by the same Holy Spirit, through Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Our God. Amen. Take care and God Bless.
