Thursday in the Second Week of Easter
John 3: 31 - 36

The one who comes from above is above all.
The one who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of earthly things.
But the one who comes from heaven is above all.
He testifies to what he has seen and heard,
but no one accepts his testimony.
Whoever does accept his testimony certifies that God is trustworthy.
For the one whom God sent speaks the words of God.
He does not ration his gift of the Spirit.
The Father loves the Son and has given everything over to him.
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life,
but whoever disobeys the Son will not see life,
but the wrath of God remains upon him.

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for healing for those who have been affected by sex abuse by clergy, that they're faith may be strengthened that they don't fall away from the Church.

I heard a great talk from Fr. James Harden and he asked ... "Are you a 'but' Catholic? You know, 'I'm a Catholic, but (insert term here)'. Well, I have some advise for you: don't go to hell on your 'buts' ..."

A lot of times for me, it's "but that person did this to me ..." which applies to drivers on the road, the person who parks to close to me, the mortgage company that somehow can't seem to ... alright, you get the idea.

If I'm not careful, I may "disobey the Son" because of my 'buts' which consist of human respect (which isn't eternal). Why should I risk my soul for the sake of human respect? Why should any of us risk going to hell on our 'buts'?

Take care and God Bless.
