Psalm 40: 5-10

Happy those whose trust is the LORD,
who turn not to idolatry or to those who stray after falsehood.
How numerous, O LORD, my God,
you have made your wondrous deeds!
And in your plans for us there is none to equal you.
Should I wish to declare or tell them,
too many are they to recount.
sacrifice and offering you do not want;
but ears open to obedience you gave me.
Holocausts and sin-offerings you do not require;
so I said, "Here I am; your commands for me are written in the scroll.
To do your will is my delight;
my God, your law is in my heart!"
I announced your deed to a great assembly;
I did not restrain my lips;
you, LORD, are my witness.

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for peace around the world, especially in the Middle East.

I wish I could love the Lord as much as David (the psalmist) loves the Lord. In today's psalm, we see his desire to love and to serve the Lord.

In today's psalm of praise, David proclaims the greatness of The Lord as we should be proclaiming the greatness of Our God. In times of doubt and despair, the Bible tells us that praising God is all we need to do. So, what is your psalm of praise? What can you tell me about the greatness of God? What great things has God done for you in your life?

The Lord has been my protector
protecting me from pain
The Lord has been my provider
the blessings fall like rain
The Lord has been my lover
giving His life for me
The Lord is my Savior
so that I could be free

and I praise My God for His goodness
and I praise My God for His grace from above
and I praise My God for His mercy
and I praise My God for He is Love.

Of course, that's a generic one. I'm sure many of you know the story of God saved me from death many times... a car accident... near drowning (reciting the 23rd Psalm as I tried to make my way towards the shore)... from my sorrow. God has been so good to me and has provided me with so much. I look at all the wonderful people God has placed in my life and each one of them has been instrumental in me knowing and loving God more. I look at all the gifts I have been given and I have grown so much in my faith through the arts and through ministries like this. I have been given many opportunities to share the Gospel message, through serving and sharing. God has been so good to me in my life, and I know that He has been good to you as well. I'd sure love to hear about it sometime. Take care and God Bless.
