Luke 17: 20-25

Asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God would come, Jesus said in reply, "The coming of the Kingdom of God cannot be observed, and no one will announce, "Look, here it is," or, "There it is." For behold, the Kingdom of God is among you."

Then he said to his disciples, "The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it. There will be those who will say to you, "Look, there he is," or "Look, here he is." Do not go off, do not run in pursuit. For just as lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be in his day. But first he must suffer greatly and be rejected by this generation."

Dawg's Thought:

Today's prayer intention - for the repose of the soul of Sister Florence Henry.

To know that Jesus Christ is present is to know that the Kingdom of God is here ... To know that the Kingdom of God is here is to know that Jesus Christ is present.

Have you ever been in the position when you wondered who your new boss is going to be? Have you ever been in the position when you wondered who was going to be the new pastor at your church?

The one thing about changing jobs is that you have to learn about how your new boss wants things. You may be used to a certain way that things are done, but that way often times doesn't go with the way your new job does things.

When we think of a Kingdom that will last beyond our earthly life ... a Kingdom that is beyond earning a just wage ... a Kingdom of God ... it is something that we can take comfort in. After all, if we know Who is our King, then we know Who it is that we should be adjusting our lives towards. It also shows us ... or should I say He shows us what ways we must leave behind and what ways we must learn.

Our King is our King in this life and beyond. Our King will not change; we will not have another King, which means that if we learn His ways, it will remain. If we learn His ways ... if we do His ways, we will have no reason to chase after ways that are contrary.

To know that Jesus Christ is present is to know that the Kingdom of God is here. Let us know and love His ways for He is our King. Take care and God Bless.
