Matthew 9:32-38

A demoniac who could not speak was brought to Jesus, and when the demon was driven out the mute man spoke. The crowds were amazed and said, "Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel." But the Pharisees said, "He drives out demons by the prince of demons."

Jesus went around to all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom, and curing every disease and illness. At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for those who suffer from depression, that God may grant them hope.

As laborers, we must trust in The Master. As laborers, we must do the work of The Master. As laborers, we must reveal The Master in what we do.

It's easy to lose sight of The Master when we don't trust in Him. Look at how the Pharisees react to Jesus in today's reading. They were suppose to be doing the work of The Master!

Instead, they reminded me of the people who would gossip at work.

Recently, I have needed to ask others to help me wrap up some client work I have. It helps me relate to today's reading in a unique way. I want the work that others are doing for me to portray the time and quality I would put into a project.

In the same way, we should come to know Our Lord more, through the scriptures and through the sacraments, so that we can do His work, humbly offering Him to those who seek Him. Take care and God Bless.
