Wednesday in the Second Week of Easter
John 3:16-21

God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son,
so that everyone who believes in him might not perish
but might have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,
but that the world might be saved through him.
Whoever believes in him will not be condemned,
but whoever does not believe has already been condemned,
because he has not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God.
And this is the verdict,
that the light came into the world,
but people preferred darkness to light,
because their works were evil.
For everyone who does wicked things hates the light
and does not come toward the light,
so that his works might not be exposed.
But whoever lives the truth comes to the light,
so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God.

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for the restoration of the marriage as a union between a man and a woman.

"Election coverage" is everywhere and for good reason: candidates want your vote. So, they offer promises that they may or may not keep, and they offer statements that may or may not be true.

It's up to us, as a voting public, to choose which candidate would be the best to run the country.

Who we have before us is a candidate that wants us to choose Him, not for His sake, but for ours. It is for our sake that The Father gave His Only Begotten Son. It is for our sake that He calls us out of the darkness and into the light. It is for our sake that He calls us to live in the truth.

He loves us for our sake, so that we may become the kingdom of God with Him within us as Our Lord and Our God.

Come to the light for your own sake, for God so loved you and He continues to do so. Take care and God Bless.
