Thursday in the Fourth Week of Easter
John 13:16-20

When Jesus had washed the disciples' feet, he said to them: "Amen, amen, I say to you, no slave is greater than his master nor any messenger greater than the one who sent him. If you understand this, blessed are you if you do it. I am not speaking of all of you. I know those whom I have chosen. But so that the Scripture might be fulfilled, The one who ate my food has raised his heel against me. From now on I am telling you before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe that I AM. Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for my brother who is having surgery for kidney stones.

Receiving Christ.

Judas couldn't receive Christ because something was in the way. Was it his idealism of who Jesus should have been? Was it his own misconceptions of what Jesus should do as a Messiah? Was it his own shortcomings that got in the way?

Some people can't accept the ways of Christ because of their own misconceptions. Maybe they think of God as a judgemental and condemning God. Maybe they think of faith as something that is outdated? Maybe they think of themselves as God.

Whatever the case, we are made to receive Christ. What is our response?

Amen!

What if our lives were lives that accepted the joys and sorrows of life with the response, "Amen!" What if Judas could respond, "Amen," to everything that Christ did and said?

Today, let us work on our "Amen" to God in response to Him giving Himself to each of us. Take care and God Bless.
