Monday in the Fifth Week of Easter
John 14:21-26

Jesus said to his disciples: "Whoever has my commandments and observes them is the one who loves me. Whoever loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and reveal myself to him." Judas, not the Iscariot, said to him, "Master, then what happened that you will reveal yourself to us and not to the world?" Jesus answered and said to him, "Whoever loves me will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him. Whoever does not love me does not keep my words; yet the word you hear is not mine but that of the Father who sent me.

"I have told you this while I am with you. The Advocate, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name - he will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for those affected by the tornado in Kansas.

One thing that I notice in many movies: disobedience reaps its rewards.

It is contrary to the Christian walk, where obedience ultimately reaps a greater reward: heaven.

In our own everyday walk, we will have trials that will challenge our free will to be obedient. We will be challenged, but we will not be alone. The Holy Spirit will be with us, and we must trust that He will guide us to truly do The Father's will.

We must also do our part. We must come to know Jesus profoundly through sacred scripture, for if we do not know God's word, how will we be reminded of it? If we do not know God's word, how can we challenge others with it?

Today, remember that we are participants in our call to holiness and we have a part in that challenge for our brothers and sisters. Let us, with faith, constantly work in union with The Holy Spirit in all seasons so that when the trial comes, we will know Him Who reveals to us The Father and The Son. Take care and God Bless.
