Matthew 23:27-32

Jesus said, "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You are like whitewashed tombs, which appear beautiful on the outside, but inside are full of dead men's bones and every kind of filth. Even so, on the outside you appear righteous, but inside you are filled with hypocrisy and evildoing.

"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the memorials of the righteous, and you say, 'If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have joined them in shedding the prophets' blood.' Thus you bear witness against yourselves that you are the children of those who murdered the prophets; now fill up what your ancestors measured out!"

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for safety for those who are traveling.

Have you ever had the thought about what's going to happen when people find out you're a fraud? After all, you're living out your faith, but on the inside you are not the same person.

There are those insecurities about being unworthy. There are those doubts about how much you really trust in God. There are those thoughts that make you think that you're not the person you want everyone else to believe that you are.

I struggle with those thoughts and I've tried to surrender them over to Our Lord as an offering, but often times I keep the offering to myself.

There is the desire, though, for Christ to be the Healer of my soul.

As a loving God, Christ points out to the scribes and Pharisees that we all are in need of God's grace and forgiveness. They may have thought that they were above His grace and forgiveness.

None of us are above receiving His mercy and healing. Thankfully, Christ knows this and He challenges us today to offer to Him the things that defile us on the inside so that we may be able to live in the freedom He calls us to.

Today, offer something to Christ that you know you don't need. Maybe it's time to offer forgiveness. Maybe it's time to offer a vice.

Whatever the case, praise God for the opportunity to offer your brokenness to Him so that we may all grow in holiness and closeness to Him. Take care and God Bless.
