Mark 8: 22-26

When Jesus and his disciples arrived at Bethsaida, people brought to him a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. Putting spittle on his eyes he laid his hands on the man and asked, "Do you see anything?" Looking up the man replied, "I see people looking like trees and walking." Then he laid hands on the man"s eyes a second time and he saw clearly; his sight was restored and he could see everything distinctly. Then he sent him home and said, "Do not even go into the village."

Dawg's Thought:

Today's prayer intention - for those who are unemployed at this time.

Tonight at choir practice, a long-time parishoner at the parish told me that he likes to tell God that if he wins the lottery, he would buy the church a pipe organ. Sounds like a good plan. Of course, if I were to think about what I would do if I won the lottery, I think that I would build the church an adoration chapel.

Instead of winning the lottery, I am barely scraping by day to day, and I believe that this is from God. His will is for me to be holy.

I thought about why Jesus took this blind man away from the crowds. It was because Christ loved this blind man. He didn't want him to be merely an object that is used to have Jesus perform another miracle. He is a person, made in the image and likeness of God. He is not an exhibition.

In the same way, while building an adoration chapel at my parish may be nice, it's not what God wants for me. He does this because He loves me, just as He loved the blind man, and just as He loves you. Take care and God Bless.
