Wednesday in the Fourth Week of Easter
John 12:44-50

Jesus cried out and said, "Whoever believes in me believes not only in me but also in the one who sent me, and whoever sees me sees the one who sent me. I came into the world as light, so that everyone who believes in me might not remain in darkness. And if anyone hears my words and does not observe them, I do not condemn him, for I did not come to condemn the world but to save the world. Whoever rejects me and does not accept my words has something to judge him: the word that I spoke, it will condemn him on the last day, because I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and speak. And I know that his commandment is eternal life. So what I say, I say as the Father told me."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for a special intention.

Jesus, in His mercy, came to save the world, not condemn it. The Father, in His mercy, gives us His commandment so that we may have eternal life. The Holy Spirit, in His mercy, leads us to The Word of God.

How hard is it to accept that God is merciful? For me, I look at how I judge myself. The person who is the most unmerciful to myself is me. The person who rejects me the most is me.

Jesus, in His mercy, came to save the world, not condemn it. This truly is something to meditate on. Jesus becoming One like us in all things but sin points to the dignity of each human being, including you and including me. He did not come to judge us. He did not come so we could judge others. He did not come so we could judge ourselves.

He came to save us. Take care and God Bless.
