Monday in the Third Week of Easter
John 6:22-29

[After Jesus had fed the five thousand men, his disciples saw him walking on the sea.] The next day, the crowd that remained across the sea saw that there had been only one boat there, and that Jesus had not gone along with his disciples in the boat, but only his disciples had left. Other boats came from Tiberias near the place where they had eaten the bread when the Lord gave thanks. When the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they themselves got into boats and came to Capernaum looking for Jesus. And when they found him across the sea they said to him, "Rabbi, when did you get here?" Jesus answered them and said, "Amen, amen, I say to you, you are looking for me not because you saw signs but because you ate the loaves and were filled. Do not work for food that perishes but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him the Father, God, has set his seal." So they said to him, "What can we do to accomplish the works of God?" Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in the one he sent."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention: (from a friend of mine) ... I am starting a prayer chain for my dear little friend Mae Watson who has a brain tumor. Mae is 8 years old and is having surgery to remove her second very aggressive brain tumor. She was diagnosed with this cancer 2 years ago and has an incredible story of survival against all odds. Now she has a new tumor and this little girl needs all the prayers she can get.

When I started doing this ministry, it was to help a friend of mine understand the faith. From that, I figured that if I was going to be doing this for a friend, why not send it out to others.

Over the years of doing this, I have been blessed to constantly interact with Him through His words. Now, not only this ministry, but many of the choices in life, I try to make every act and every choice according to the faith Our Lord has blessed me with.

Yet, I am still tied to many of my own desires ... many of my own insecurities.

I read something recently in the "Imitation of Christ" ...

* * *

Whatever You give me other than Yourself, or whatever You reveal to me or promise me, is much too little and insufficient for me unless I see You and fully possess you. My heart, for certain, cannot find its true rest nor be perfectly happy unless it rises above all gifts and all creatures and rests in You.

My most sweet Spouse, Jesus Christ, most pure lover, Lord of all creation, who will give me the wings of true freedom to fly toward You and find my rest in You:

When will I be fully free to see how sweet You are, my Lord God?

When will I become so fully absorbed in You, that for the love you You, I will no longer be conscious of myself but only of You, and in a way that surpasses the powers of my senses and is not grated all men to experience?

I often complain and bear my uneasiness with a sad heart. Countless evils befall me in this vale of tears, and very often they disturb me, depress me, and darken my way. The distract me and slow me down, entice me and so entangle me that I am no longer free to go to You, nor anymore do I enjoy the sweet embraces You are accustomed to grant the souls of the blessed.

Let the cry of my heart and the many desolations I suffer on earth find a favorable hearing with You!

* * *

Why do you follow Our Lord? Why do you devote yourself to His will? Why would someone else follow His will?

My faith journey is still very young. I do know this ... Lord, I desire to believe so that I may accomplish Your works. Take care and God Bless.
