Wednesday in the Fourth Week of Easter
John 12:44-50

Jesus cried out and said, "Whoever believes in me believes not only in me but also in the one who sent me, and whoever sees me sees the one who sent me. I came into the world as light, so that everyone who believes in me might not remain in darkness. And if anyone hears my words and does not observe them, I do not condemn him, for I did not come to condemn the world but to save the world. Whoever rejects me and does not accept my words has something to judge him: the word that I spoke, it will condemn him on the last day, because I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me what to say and speak. And I know that his commandment is eternal life. So what I say, I say as the Father told me."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for safety for Pope Benedict during his visit to the United States.

God made the human body extremely well. One of the things that amazes me his how our eyes can change what it sees.

When it's dark, our eyes compensate for the lack of light. While we might be able to see things, we aren't able to see things the way it should be. We may be able to make out object, but can we see details and colors?

If only people could see the details and colors behind the evils of contraception and abortion. If only people could see the details and colors behind the lie of same-sex unions. If only people could see the details behind the things that they want to hold on to so much, like their addictions.

The light of Christ is not meant to condemn you for not being able to see clearly. The light of Christ is meant for us to see clearly because He is merciful. Take care and God Bless.
