Luke 14:12-14

On a sabbath Jesus went to dine at the home of one of the leading Pharisees. He said to the host who invited him, "When you hold a lunch or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or sisters or your relatives or your wealthy neighbors, in case they may invite you back and you have repayment. Rather, when you hold a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind; blessed indeed will you be because of their inability to repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for the repose of the soul of Anacita Augustine.

For the month of November, the prayer intentions will be for those who have passed on. If you have someone that you love prayed for who has passed on, please feel free to send me their names.

Being repaid at the resurrection of the righteous implies that you will share in the resurrection and that you have lived righteous in the eyes of The Lord.

I desire both, but I have yet to throw a banquet.

Yet, everyday there's an opportunity to love those who I fear loving. It's no so much that I fear they can't pay me back, but rather it's a reflection of my own poverty. In those times, faith reminds me of the feeding of 5,000 and how Christ was able to multiply what little was there and turned it into a banquet.

Lord, may Your love be multiplied in me so that I do not fear being inadequate in loving others. I desire this for I desire to live a life of righteousness so that I may one day be risen in You and through You.

Take care and God Bless.
