Luke 17: 7-10

Jesus said to the Apostles: "Who among you would say to your servant who has just come in from plowing or tending sheep in the field, 'Come here immediately and take your place at table?' Would he not rather say to him, 'Prepare something for me to eat. Put on your apron and wait on me while I eat and drink. You may eat and drink when I am finished?' Is he grateful to that servant because he did what was commanded? So should it be with you. When you have done all you have been commanded, say, 'We are unprofitable servants; we have done what we were obliged to do.'"

Dawg's Thought:

Today's prayer intention - for the repose of the soul of Peg and Peter Zimmer

To do the will of God is enough.

It gets real easy to want to seek a special blessing for being faithful. What happens when the blessing that you expect from God doesn't come? Isn't the grace to be faithful enough of a blessing?

Yet, it seems like it is human nature to want God to provide something that is tangible ... something that we can perceive.

The Crucifix. If we ever wanted to see a Servant Who loved so much that He did what He had to do ... If we ever wanted to look upon a gift that goes beyond having enough time, money, community ... If we ever wanted to gaze at a God Who doesn't give us more than we can handle, but gives us enough to be holy ...

God doesn't demand from us, but rather gives us the free will. Do we give God that freedom? Do we give God the permission to use His free will to bless us as He desires?

What better way to trust in The Lord than to receive all things from Him as blessing!

Take care and God Bless.
