Matthew 8:1-4

When Jesus came down from the mountain, great crowds followed him. And then a leper approached, did him homage, and said, "Lord, if you wish, you can make me clean." He stretched out his hand, touched him, and said, "I will do it. Be made clean."

His leprosy was cleansed immediately. Then Jesus said to him, "See that you tell no one, but go show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses prescribed; that will be proof for them."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is in thanksgiving for God's grace and His many blessings!

I wish my prayers could be more like the leper's prayer because it's not about the leper's desire. It's all about God's will.

This great prayer was made from the leper's weakness and suffering. We often look at our trials and our faults as the things that we are ashamed of or the things that we just hide from everyone. I know that for me, I even get to the point of denial of my own weaknesses and faults... which I guess is a weakness in itself.

We know through scripture and the sacraments that God is merciful. Today, as you struggle with your own weaknesses, turn to God and offer your weakness to Him completely trusting in His will. Take care and God Bless.
