Luke 11:37-41

After Jesus had spoken, a Pharisee invited him to dine at his home. He entered and reclined at table to eat. The Pharisee was amazed to see that he did not observe the prescribed washing before the meal. The Lord said to him, "Oh you Pharisees! Although you cleanse the outside of the cup and the dish, inside you are filled with plunder and evil. You fools! Did not the maker of the outside also make the inside? But as to what is within, give alms, and behold, everything will be clean for you."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for the repose of the soul of Joe Kimak.

Lately, writing these reflections have been a struggle. Internally, there is a struggle that goes on that some days is a struggle with perfectionism and other days is a struggle with distractions.

The thing is that it's not just something that's related to today's reading. It's something that's in every aspect of my life.

Lately, I've been meditating and praying on something that the late Pope John Paul II said. The gist of it was "forgive the wrong and multiply the good ... I abandon it all to Your mercy."

It's helped me recently to remember that the mistakes of my life have been placed in the merciful hands of God, Who makes us clean. It's helped me remember that God desires to give and multiply "the good" in my life and it is in His mercy.

Lord, I trust in Your mercy so that I may not hold onto things inside that hold me back from the freedom of loving and being obedient to You.

Take care and God Bless.
