Tuesday in the Fourth Week of Easter

John 10:22-30

The feast of the Dedication was taking place in Jerusalem. It was winter. And Jesus walked about in the temple area on the Portico of Solomon. So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, "How long are you going to keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly." Jesus answered them, "I told you and you do not believe. The works I do in my Father's name testify to me. But you do not believe, because you are not among my sheep. My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish. No one can take them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can take them out of the Father's hand. The Father and I are one."

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Sri Lanka.

How comforting is it to know that you are in The Father's hand? At this moment in my life, it is greatly comforting to me.

When life seems uncertain and I question some of the decisions I have made, or maybe have not made ... no matter how much I may screw something up, it is good to know and trust that Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd.

At times, being in my condo alone many times, worry consumes me a lot. I am one of those "creative" types and my mind tends to drift and many times it drifts to places that leave me doubtful and insecure. When I say that it is comforting to know that I ... we ... are in The Father's hand, I truly believe it. I can't imagine what it would be like not knowing that there is a God Who is Our Good Shepherd, taking on human form, and laying down His life for me.

Take comfort today ... His mercy endures forever. Take care and God Bless.
