Luke 6:12-19

Jesus departed to the mountain to pray, and he spent the night in prayer to God. When day came, he called his disciples to himself, and from them he chose Twelve, whom he also named Apostles: Simon, whom he named Peter, and his brother Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon who was called a Zealot, and Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

And he came down with them and stood on a stretch of level ground. A great crowd of his disciples and a large number of the people from all Judea and Jerusalem and the coastal region of Tyre and Sidon came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases; and even those who were tormented by unclean spirits were cured. Everyone in the crowd sought to touch him because power came forth from him and healed them all.

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for an end to abortion and the use of contraception.

Right now, all I want to do is go to sleep. I'm pretty tired and all I want to do is get through this reflection so that I can get to bed.

About a minute ago, I was about to just say "forget it ... I'm going to bed." After all, how often do we hear about the call of the disciples? How often to we hear about people being healed and wanting to just touch Jesus so that they can be healed.

It's my desire to encounter Him and to experience that joy. There was something about Christ's call to the disciples that made them want to abandon their security and what they knew. There was something about Christ that drew the brokenhearted to Himself.

As I thought about it, I was reminded about how our weakness should draw us closer to Him.

Thankfully, I was tired tonight and all I wanted to do was go to bed.

I praise You, Lord, for providing in my weakness an opportunity to turn my weakness into a way of glorifying You.

Take care and God Bless.
