John 1: 35-42

John was standing with two of his disciples, and as he watched Jesus walk by, he said, "Behold, the Lamb of God." The two disciples heard what he said and followed Jesus. Jesus turned and saw them following him and said to them, "What are you looking for?" They said to him, "Rabbi" (which translated means Teacher), "where are you staying?" He said to them, "Come, and you will see." So they went and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day. It was about four in the afternoon. Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two who heard John and followed Jesus. He first found his own brother Simon and told him, "We have found the Messiah," which is translated Christ. Then he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, "You are Simon the son of John; you will be called Cephas," which is translated Peter.

Dawg's Thought:

Today's prayer intention - for those who are traveling.

Who knows that you have found the Messiah?

It is crazy how people are able to share items these days. You can press the "Like" button for Facebook. You can hit the "+1" on Google Plus. You can Digg, Foursquare, and a lot of other things to let someone know that you found something great.

There were a lot of people who "found" the Messiah; in fact, there were at least thousands.

Then there were those who found the "Messiah". There were those who did more than say that they "found" Him and broadcast it to others. There were those who decided to be more than just the "mayor of" the Messiah (Foursquare reference). There were those who were changed because He was, is, and will forever be the Messiah! So much so even the name of a man named Simon became Peter!

In this time of resolutions for the new year, why not become one who proclaims that you found the Messiah? Why not, in times of distress and turmoil, turn to the Lamb of God, Whom we behold in the Eucharist? Why not, in times when we feel as if we have no place to stay, say to Our Lord, "where are you staying so that I may be with You?"

In the end, I pray that Christ will say to you, "you are a child of God; you will be called a Saint." Take care and God Bless.
