Matthew 9:18-26

While Jesus was speaking, an official came forward, knelt down before him, and said, "My daughter has just died. But come, lay your hand on her, and she will live." Jesus rose and followed him, and so did his disciples. A woman suffering hemorrhages for twelve years came up behind him and touched the tassel on his cloak. She said to herself, "If only I can touch his cloak, I shall be cured." Jesus turned around and saw her, and said, "Courage, daughter! Your faith has saved you." And from that hour the woman was cured.

When Jesus arrived at the official's house and saw the flute players and the crowd who were making a commotion, he said, "Go away! The girl is not dead but sleeping." And they ridiculed him. When the crowd was put out, he came and took her by the hand, and the little girl arose. And news of this spread throughout all that land.

Dawg's thought:

Today's prayer intention is for safety for those who are traveling.

A little less than a year ago I got a text message from my ex-girlfriend telling me that her mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. It was a very tough time.

One day, I stopped by her house while she was in recovery. She showed me the cross that she holds on to when she doesn't have the strength. Then she told me that she reads through the miracles of healing in Gospels to find comfort.

Now, every time I read through the healing miracles Jesus performed throughout the Gospels, I think of that.

Looking at my life right now, I don't have any physical illnesses that I can speak of, but that doesn't mean that I'm exempt from healing. I know that there are many "false idols" in my mind and heart that I need redemption from. I know that I need to embrace the cross given to me by Our Beloved Lord so that I can participate in the suffering He endured for my purification and for the redemption of others.

He wants to heal us.

Take a look at your life today and allow Jesus to show you where you need healing in your life today. Take care and God Bless.
